And why you shouldn't listen to people who aren't trying to do what you're trying to do.
Things that are important to remember:
YOU HAVE TO FUCK IT UP TO SUCCEED AT ANYTHING
YOU HAVE TO RISK FAILURE TO ACHIEVE A WIN
YOU HAVE TO TRY IN ORDER TO DO ANYTHING
YOU HAVE TO RISK BELITTLEMENT IN ORDER TO FIND AUTHENTICITY
Do not second guess yourself the way they do (the way they wish you would, too) because it’s actually a reflection of their own self doubts. The world will trick you into a fear mindset, if you let it. Especially creatively. As if there isn’t enough for us all. But there is — don’t become their self-fulfilling prophecy, for they need you to doubt yourself in order for their power to remain impactful.
IF YOU’VE DETERMINED YOU WILL NOT WITHHOLD FROM OTHERS (except in necessary contexts), YOU’LL FIND VERY FEW WITHHOLD FROM YOU (specifically in reference to creative opportunities and development).
CALL YOUR ENERGY BACK. DON’T LET IT GO — ALLOWING ITS DISINTEGRATION INTO THE ETHER, FOR GOOD, AND TO NO FRUITFUL END. You forget it was yours to begin with, you are the fork in the road of your own future realities. We can never know what the other option would’ve been…
THEREFORE YOU CANNOT LOSE.
Do not succumb to fear for it kills creativity. Put your best foot forward, trust your gut — ensure you have tried your best and if it is not deemed enough, then try again. If it doesn’t work, try something else (or try again until it does).
It’s OK if it ends, for it all has to eventually. —> Anyways, there’s another window just waiting for you to peek in.
Don’t you see it? Look up… see, I told you —> there it is.
KILL THE MUSE SO YOU CAN BECOME IT. | REANIMATE IT. | KILL IT AGAIN.
You cannot view your creative practice through a lens of pragmatism. For practicality is not where the sprit of creation comes from, that’s not how it works.
Expansion is not gifted to you in a box with a bow “when you deserve it.” You determine it’s yours and build it. Even if the stage is firstly composed of blu tack, twigs, and cello tape, it’s a stage all the same. And if someone tries to tell you that your stage is not a “proper stage,” ask them: “Then why is it I’m able to stand upon it?”
KILL THAT FUCKER IN YOUR HEAD THAT TELLS YOU NO. GIVE YOURSELF THE AUTHORITY TO TRY. WE HAVE ONE LIFE. WHAT A WASTE NOT TO USE IT.
Just some thoughts on creation this Friday morning. Yes, I’m of course procrastinating the work I actually get paid to do because the dream is to one day get paid for my most impassioned writing exclusively. So I will continue to delusion myself into believing that to be my reality, until it is. Because it will be, watch.
